vibration after cv replacement
I replaced both the axles in my wife's 97 civic dx, and now there is a vibration when I accelerate. Its not that bad, and only noticeable in like 2nd and 3rd gear. It is noticeable though, so I gotta fix it. I assume one of the axles is unbalanced, so is there a way to check? I was thinking of jacking the car up and lowering it onto one control arm, and then accelerating and seeing if it shakes. Is there anything else it could be after changing the axles, like maybe a bearing or something. She drove the car for quite a while after the boots had ripped before I changed the axles. I'd say about 2 years. the vibration wasnt there before, so I assume its the axle.
I had similar vibration problem with my accord after getting "NEW" axles from autozone. The vibration was noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear only. I finally got remanufactured axles from Carquest and the vibration went away.
i also vote for a poor reman as the culprit. if the axle is a little too long or too short, or a host of other things, it can cause the inner CV to bind or be generally sloppy and vibrate under acceleration.
i prefer cardone axles if i have to do OE replacement axles, and raxles for performance applications.

IF there was no vibration before you change the axles
IF the axles are for the correct car, year, length etc
MEANS you have a defect on your new axles, your cv shaft is bent in which will cause vibrations. You get what you paid for.
