Idle drops when engine cold ( not usual scenario )
Guys,
Im having a little bit of a problem with a car and hoping you could advise.
When cold, at standstill idle is fine, but when coasting to a stop the idle will drop to 500rpm or so and try to cut out, when the vehicle is stopped the idle returns to normal ( 1100rpm ) after a couple of seconds. Target idle is 1200 moving 1100 standstill whilst warming up, AFRs etc have been checked out and are around 13.5:1 whilst warming, IACV duty cycle adjustments make no difference. Once up to temp everything is perfect.
Now the car has a FITV, and i understand that this could be the problem, but every issue i have encountered with a FITV has caused a high cold idle, not low. Is it possible that the FITV is jammed shut, and would that explain these symptoms?
The car is not local to me, and i have been up twice now to try and resolve the issue for a friend, but i only have a few minutes before the car warms and the problem dissappears.
I have datalogs of the problem with Crome if anyone would like a look.
Any help appriciated.
