Idle issue
My rpms seems to jump up and down about 500rpms even when im at a light. I had this problem for about 2 months..
I put about 30000 miles on engine, in going to get new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor..
Any suggestions??

no booster..
the iacv is the one that has coolant running threw it, and the fitv is one the front of intake manifold by the fuel pressure regulator..
I purchased a new iacv from ebay, was brand new...

this is one of those times i wish i paid attention. someone brought a car with this same issue but i was busy with something else, from what i remember tho its something to do with a sensor. maybe someone can take it from here......
post back if you figure out what it is, im curious!

I don't see how the hell this would effect the IACV.

What exactly is the problem with the map sensor? Or are you just saying to replace it?
im saying the wires to the map sensor can be somehow cut or damaged or the map sensor its self is bad. if you have a d16 try it. start it up and unplug the map sensor it will do what hes saying, i work on alot of hondas and the main problem with idleing is map or iac
if you get one make sure to get both the map sensor and the plug that goes into the map sensor as well,it only has 3 wires that run to it and change both and if it still contiues to idle funny check your wires from ecu to map sensor,
Righto.
Are MAP sensors fairly universal? Or should i try and stick with an OBD0 D series?
None of the OBD0 civics here where EFI, so I'm wondering if i could use an Integra or an Accord.

im not sure, but to be safe id stick to the d series their not hard to find or around here their not
you could try using one from a teg or accord but i have no clue if it would work or not

My 2 cents....... wat exacty are ur rpm oscilattions? From wat rpm does it drop to and climb 2? Let's say its going from 600 to 1200 rpms...... with this scenario..... I would treat it as a vacuum leak..... idle is shooting high..... computer sees this thru rpm ...... looks over at the tps sensor to see its status....... sees that throttle plates are closed then says.... oooh crap idles tooo high I should attemp to correct and and drops the idle...... that's when it bogs out to 600 rpm....... wit that being said that's how the iacv can be defective in the open position causing a massive vacuum leak.... in relation that's why its a tipical fix.... veery common. Soooo wit all this being said I would look into a vacuum leak..... to start....... intake mani gasket, vacuum hose to the fuel regulator, brake booster..... etc...... another thing I've seen wit slight idle ossoscillation is dirty throttle bodys.... but that's usally couple houndred rpm only..... hopefully that helps keep us posted
Doesnt do it all the time, will go from 1000rpm to like 1500rpm and will continue until i push the gas pedal and then stops. It doesnt do it everyday..
I was told the map sensor before becuase it has the stock d series which is on the firewall, i was the thinking of switchiing to the one that will be on the intake throttle body..
Would that be easy to do??
what will be involved.. I already have a throttle body made for it I was told to hook up the map sensor onto throttle body and it eliminates a vacuum hose ( IF I REMEMBER CORRECT)
thanks again everyone
