stem Seals
I can't even help you with a ashop manual on this one. When I search to try to figure out what a stem cell for an automatic is, I get stuff about chicken egg and embryos.

K... assuming stem seals for the valves in the cylinder and not the transmission some place, right?
Will you be doing this with the head on the block, or will you be removing it?
Take a look at this, it's for aB-series, but it's just about the same thing minus a few steps (D-series won't have some parts)

If you leave the head on the car, you can buy an adaptor to hook up an air compressor to the spark plug holes. The air keeps the valves up while you work. You do not want them falling and then possibly chipping to dropping in and then you have to pull the head off anyway. If you don't have air, you can also rotate the crank so the piston is about 1/4 way down from being at top. Then feed a long length of nylon rope into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Turn the crank to bring the piston up a little (don't go crazy) to compress the rope which will hold the valves up.

Oh - a small magnet is good to keep track of the keepers and they make a few different types of tools for compressing the springs rather than using brute force like the link I gave above.
