Default 35 shot NX dyno

So I did a couple of pulls today. The torque graph is messed up due to the ignition sensor having some technical difficulties. The ballpark numbers are 190ft/lbs on the first pull and 205ft/lbs on the second. Can anyone tell me why I got such big numbers on a 35 shot? In case you were wondering I make 114 Whp and 106 ft/lbs on motor..

Thanks, it's a torque monster!!! I explained the torque in the above paragraph.

That dyno graph makes me think that their dyno machine needs re-calibration. It looks terribly inaccurate. No hp curve should ever look that awful. There are far too many spikes along the curve, to seem even close to realistic.

Here's how a curve should appear when properly tuned:

Note the lack of huge peaks and/or valleys, and the rough shape of a Bell curve.

Dynojet dynos never need to be re calibrated
They have to have an accurate ignition source in order to calculate torque
There is nothing wrong with the dyno he just didnt have the ignition pick up right

I would go with that But, the hp is correct. I ran an all motor dyno afterwards and it looked like a steady curve like the ZO6 dyno that you have posted. I couldn't get the ignition sending unit on the dyno to work right.... that is why the torque is so messed up. and the nitrous looses pressure as it sprays... Also, notice my air/fuel at the same rpm; it starts to run too rich towards high end.

Any break ups in the ignition system will usually result in a spike in the tq graph.

Or if their magnets in their pick up leads are broken will also do that.

your HP figures are also way too high for running a 35 shot of nitrous, even when calculating at the crank.

The only thing is we did 5 pulls within the last week.... the all motor numbers were still right on. I was expecting to see 150 - 155 whp but, I was told this can happen. I guess there was some guy named Eric that had k-swap, turbo and a 35 shot and with the 35 shot he gained 132 whp. I was asking why I'm having such large gains... Not if the dyno is broken.

I haven't used it much until recently. I used to spray a lot last year. What part of OK are you from? Go to 7thgenhonda.com and visit the Oklahoma forum; we have meets.

What bottle pressure were you spraying at?

you said you made 114hp and 106tq at the hub. even if calculating a FULL 35 hp from the nitrous, your STILL not hitting 150-155whp. you lose hp through the drive train so in reality, your only getting about 30hp from that spray and that's being generous. Btw, what other supporting mods do you have?

PS. I know I might sound like I'm trying to bash on you but I really do believe theres potential in the D17. Hell, I know the guy who had the highest HP turbo'd D17 and the guy who will soon have the highest HP N/A D17 too, with NO form of F/I

Well G, it is an NX kit... the 35 shot is supposed to give 35 whp, the NX kits are notorious for putting down bigger numbers than the Zex kits and the NOS kits(that rate your engine Hp gains). I've got sri w/K&N, 4-1 Header, 2.25" downpipe with 2.5" Magna Flow cat, and a Tsudo catback with 2.5" Vibrant resonator. Also, Competition Clutch stage II and a Competition Clutch ultra lightweight flywheel, Denso Iridium plugs, that's about it.

The bottle pressure was 1,000 psi on the first pull and about 900 psi on the second both on a full 10lb bottle. The other day I had less impressive numbers with 3Lbs of nitrous, and I couldn't get it up past 750 psi... That day I got 143 whp and 172 ft/lbs wtq. I didn't have a problem with the ignition on the dyno that day... that was a solid torque number.
