Back speakers only work when AM/FM radio is on????
thast really wired.
have you checked any wireing?
make model year? what type of deck?
judging by your other post you need to go through pull you deck and re-do you wire harness.

Some Toyota vehicles have rear amplified speakers, and when a aftermarket deck is installed, if the factory "amp turn on" lead is connected to the power antenna output of the radio (looses power on CD) you wont have audio on CD. If its not amplified.....bad deck is my guess.

Need lots more info...
MM&Y of car to start.
Is it a stock HU, [radio]?
If not, make and model of HU?
Is there an amp, if so, make and model?
If as mentioned, the rear speakers are amplified, then the problem is, as mentioned, the amp control is connected to the HUs power ant. control output instead of the HUs amp control output. 94

OK, one more time...
No amp and it is a Panasonic, how about the rest?

It sounds like your asking the same questions. Its in a 1994 honda civic. What the heck is a radio? I know there is a radio but are you asking if the STEREO is stock? because I dont know what this physical radio is you're talking about. If you're asking that and I said it's a panasonic then why would it be stock? There is an amp for the subs, but that wouldn't effect the speakers only working when radio is on. I don't know what information is necessary to solve the problem?

Yes I was asking the same questions, copy and paste, as you did not answer all the questions I asked.
Reason for info...
MM&Y of car to start., tells me rear speakers do not have a stock amp that may have been left in when aftermarket HU was installed.
Is it a stock HU, [radio]? Just left in the second time because it was a copy and paste, "radio" same as HU, some OPs do not know what HU means but I have never run into anybody that did not know what a radio is.
If not, make and model of HU? The one question you answered.
Is there an amp, if so, make and model? Needed to know if an aftermarket amp was installed to drive the rear speakers.
Anyway, now that we have played post tag to get the info I needed I would say the problem is in the HU itself, I am not sure exactly what the problem is but with the HU connected directly to the speakers it can only be a problem in the HU, it is easily confirmed, switch the wiring from front to rear, if problem changes to front speakers it confirms it is a HU problem, take it back where you got it for warranty replacement.94

i'm not a panasonic fan nor familiar with there settings, but for ex. my alpine unit has treble settings per source, meaning i have to set my onboard eq in every mode, cd/fm/aux, etc, by any pyschotic chance, is there a fade for both the cd and am/fm mode?
