Default dyno numbers

My buddy over the weekend dynoed his 09 si sedan it has an intake and throttle body spacer on it. The dyno said he put down 192 whp and 216 tq and him and all the people that were at this dyno event argued with me that the dyno doesnt lie and blah blah. I just want some others opinions on this. me and my buddy told him it had to be a mustang dyno but he completely flipped out saying im just mad because if i dynoed my car it wouldnt of put down that much torque. Another one of my buddies put his 94 turboed d-series on 8 pounds put 189whp and like 170 something torque...

Dyno Fail.

192hp sounds about right, but the 216ft/lbs is off.

162ft/lbs maybe.

The torque spiked. Doesn't the dyno pick up the peak numbers from any run, thus highlighting an erroneous spike??

these #'s are nowhere near correct since with just an intake and spacer you may get around 185 out of the car on a good day, and trq in the 160 range. even 200+ whp is hard to get without a header an exhaust , lets see pix of the dyno chart.

x2

ive yet to see a civic with just an intake and a TB spacer make that much torque. i dont see that possible.

oh my friend trust me i know , just to break 200 it took me I/H/E, spacer, and a reflash. I have seen dyno's on 2 06 si's with just I/E and spacer push 185 and 187, but both were also done in the fall months, with low humidity and cooler air temps, my car get low trq #s due to an 8lb FW, so im aware this is BS. Thats why i said lets see the charts, cause either the dyno was a piece or has some serious malfuction going on.

different types of dynos will give you different power readings on the same motor. you can "gain" 20 whp by going to a different dyno. i've seen dynos of 190+ whp on si's. therefore, the hp numer is realistic, however, there's no way an si will ever make more torque than hp without fi.

yeah. ive never really seen any civic or teg with torque numbers higher than the HP numbers tho. same with the Prelude. someone need to get their money back and redo a dyno run.

even with FI i dont think civic torque numbers would be higher than HP. a mustang maybe. but not a civic. anyone know what kind of dyno it was?

nah never seen higher trq #s on any civic, and the quoate just says they thought it was a mustang dyno , which seems a bit odd that you wouldnt know what sort of dyno you were on. the chart sheet would tell you and those #s from really no mods is extremely unrealistic, iv seen dif dyno's have whp readings within 5 to 7 whp but trq being within a # or two. so IDK something dont sound right.

d-series turbo civics can make more torque than horsepower, as can a civic with a boosted f-series swap.

Not even 162 bro, maybe more like 132. I push 260 to the wheels and am only getting 173 and this is with a Supercharger, CAI, and Custom Race Header.

192 does'nt even sound right, I have seen so many of these car's dyno in a few dif locations and never seen 192 from just an intake and spacer, and even the best i have yet to see from a CAI and spacer is a 188 with 163 trq, which i thought was pretty good, concidering that with an 8lb FW the best im doing is 154 trq with over 211 hp, and I have a ton of **** done in my car.

192 can be right it all depends on what type of dyno he was on. I put down 207whp with SRI/DCRH/Greddy evo 2 catback. either he read the dyno wrong or the dyno is wrong.

I hope that was a joke. Horsepower is a multiplication of torque.

HP = TQ*RPM/5252
