code 43???
i have an 88 crx dx with a 97 ls engine. this swap has been done for 6 months or so and been throwing this code since day one. i know it is a fuel supply code, i had to replace the fuel pump when i did the swap so it is not the pump itself... also new fuel filter so im not sure if maybe a line is kinked or sumthing. also the car idles really high when i start it, like 3500rpm, it runs like a champ tho and never really gave me any trouble. also i did idle the car all the way down, and got a new tps. any help would be awesome!!!!!!!!
Search cel codes again! make sure your reading the blinks right, post the code defenition, then maybe people will be more help.

sounds like the idle might be a vacuum leak... check the back of the manifold where the fuel pressuer regulator's vacuum line goes to maintain stable fuel pressure... that might be your whole problem!
if not then check out the main oxygen sensor and make sure it's hooked up... because i'm pretty sure it would make you throw a 43 if it's faulty or if the heater for it is messed up... it happened to me once in a delsol.

im pretty sure its not a vacuum leak, when its running i sprayed sum carb cleaner in that area, and usually that would make it rev higher. and for the o2, mine is only 1 wire, there is no heater. it is definately code 43, fuel supply system.
i had this same code and changed out everything from, vacuum lines-fuel pump-press regulator-filter-injectors, and still no go. then i finally decided to swap out the entire dx (converted to mpfi) for a 91 si, when i got to the fuel pump connector uner the rear cargo box (crx) saw that i had a wire that was grounding out. finished swapping out the harness and no more light.
check all your wires back there make sure nothing is stripped and grounding out.

Well my main issue isnt actually the code, my cel doesnt even come on all the time. I should have titled this, high idle issue, but i was thinking the two were connected. My main issue is the high idle, like really high! It starts off bout 4k then as it warms up if im lucky itll get down to like 2k, but as soon as i drive it and go to stop it stays idled up to like 4k. My first thought was tps, but like i said, i replaced it. Also i had a first gen ls in the car before and never had this issue. When i put in the newer ls, i put on the old manifold and sensors. Im not sure if this has anything to do with the code 43 or not. Like i say i can live with the code but this idle issue has got to come to a head! Any help would be appreciated........
hey whenever you can start your car and with your foot pull back on your throttle pedal.I would be like at 2500 rpm at a stop light pull on the pedal and it would go down to 1000 the moment i gave it gas it would jump right back to 2500
Yea, at this point my throttle cable is pretty loose, i also tried pulling back on the pedal that didnt work either. I really appreciate all the input tho, eventually we'll figure it out i hope.
im having the same issue.
i currently have an ef with the obd1 conversion
after the conversion i had the check engine code.
i also get bogging from time to time when i get to 2500 rpm
i think it might be wiring.
im going to check the wiring under the back seat as i think the previous owner did a kill switch to the fuel pump.
im also gonna try the ecu as i am currently running a ls ecu with a d16a6
ill keep you posted with any findings

i trouble shot it to a loose vacuum hose leading to the map sensor. it was causing all kinds of funky codes first i was getting a code for the fuel pump and then i got a map sensor code.
when i fixed the leak at the manifold where the map sensor line hooks up it all went away.
i also changed my spark plugs but i cant verify that the helped the issue.
i know the op mentioned that he has a 97 in a crx so i dont know if fix will help him as the 97 has the throttle body mounted map sensor but its worth a shot.
mostly check the hoses at the manifold for vacuum leaks
g/l with your issue
