wanted to know how much power you could efficently make with a 6 inch johnny race car intercooler?

I have made 315whp on my d series with it. It's been running for 3 years with no problems!

 

thats good to know, i know people have made as much as 400whp on the 8 inch, i have the 6 inch from my old setup and when i put this one together i never replaced it, it's got a street tune on it now, and it runs pretty good but i think thats probably my biggest limiting factor in my setup right now, i wanna get about 400 to the wheels when i get it dyno tuned and didnt want to get there and have this be whats holding me back.

any more info is appreciated!

 

i run the 8 inch daily at under 400whp. nice unit, i plan to run it past 450 this summer on e85 and a 75 shot.

 

what are the exact dimensions of the core? bar and plate or tube and fin?

 

to be honest i dont know, i'd have to take my bumper off and measure, as far as bar and plate or tube and fin, i dont kknow that either, i bought this thing like....5 years maybe more ago i really dont remember and jrc no longer has a website or i'd just ask them this question and save all of this lol but bump for anyone ever using them and making good power

I have the 6'' JRC intercooler, and have been making 346whp with no issues. I do plan on upgrading it to the 8'' though.

 

What are you IAT's?

 

dont know my iat's dont have anyway to motor them... where do you plan on getting the 8 inch at? the website is no longer existant.

 

I purchased the 8'' from a friend a while ago. Never had the time to put it on.

 

oh.. if i had the 8 inch i wouldnt worry too much about getting 400whp out of it efficiently, i'm just afraid that i'm going to be past the limits of the intercooler and waste a trip to the dyno and the $... but if it wont be a problem to keep it i'll be able to save myself roughly $380 on the intercooler.
