Default Need Info on this ECU

This ECU was in the back seat of my car when I bought it. I need to know:

What ECU this is.

What this ECU is worth.

How I can find out if it is good.

Here are the pics:

Thanks.

Well for starters it's an OBDI Prelude H22a P13 ECU....

What do you have under the hood? Do you have a prelude?

A guy saw it yesterday and said the same thing, then he said it was OBD2, not sure how he came to that conclusion. Anyway, my car is a ZC CRX, the ECU is not for it.

No. OBDII Preludes have codes like P5P. P13 is OBDI. Open up the ecu and see if the chip in one of the corners is chipped. It will either be in a socket or have some sort of note on it..somehting like this:

it could be a 96 obd2 ecu.

it definitely is an h22a ecu.

however, i don't believe it's an obd1 ecu since it has a 4 plug harness. all obd1's use 3plugs and have separate tranny control modules.

i believe it's an obd2 ecu because tranny control modules were eliminated and ran through the main ecu.

i could be wrong.

but it definitely seems to be an auto ecu due to the j-at.

Sorry I posted a pic of a P72 (GS-R ECU)

I don't think a 96 ECU would say p13....I have a 96 I can check when I get home...I know on the top mine says 3AB and not MJ5

satan, i used to run a 96usdm obd2 ecu which should be the same as yours on my old accord.

the numbers should be 37820-p13-a11 or a12. the numbers do start with a p13 upto 96.

even 96 eh? That's a little odd..I guess the P13 stayed with the engine design and not with the OBD change. I'll check it anyways

that is a JDM OBD1 ecu, the extra plug I believe was for the 4WS module. That's why it has 4WS on it. The JDM p13 for just the lude vtec has a 2WS on it. TRUST me on this, katman and I had some trouble with the ECU i got and it was just like yours...it can be chipped and it is OBD1.

It's a JDM Automatic H22A ECU. Since it's automatic, it's pretty much useless. I don't know if there is a way to convert automatic P13s to manual. I can also say with near 100% certainty that it is OBD1. The 1996 Prelude in Japan was a 5th gen and used the P5P series ECUs. 1992-95 JDM Preludes all used P13s and were OBD1 compatible.

All this being said... how can I know that it is good, and how much is it worth? If it's good, someone's bound to need it.

IMO, your best bet is to just put it on ebay with no reserve. I've seen the AT P13s go for $250+ on there. It should bring around $200 on there because most people on ebay are dumb. In reality it's a pretty worthless ECU unless you can find someone that can use it. And it's only useful if you happen to have a JDM 4th gen H22a with an automatic H22a tranny... I've only ever heard of a handful of people with H22A swaps into Accords that actually use that Automatic tranny.

Anyone wanna help me make a title and description for eBay so that I can make some money to help buy my wheels or CF hood? Thanks.

just say JDM P13 H22A ECU or something like that...you don't have to be specific, that's what emails are for. If they want to know something they will ask, if not oh well they bought it anyway. I'm not saying screw someone over, but Katman can chip an auto to a manual fairly easy....

Actually I know someone that may be interested in it. Can someone confirm that this is not a 4ws model or anything? Someone was talking about 3 vs. 4 plugs

Looks like I scared everyone away with that price... should I try listing this in the classified forum? I really don't feel like going online every 5 minutes to bump it to the top! haha Any ideas? Anyone interested? Should I say anything on the Accord Forum?

What kinda trouble did you have? My JDM Ecu has 4ws onit to.. But says MT, unstead of AT, meaning Manual Transmission...
