Default Wheel Rub??

I installed my coilovers and lower my car about 1.5-2 inches. When I corner hard my front wheels rub on the wheel well. I was told by a friend to take out the inside plastic in the wheel well. Is this OK and what did some of you guys do. My car is a 98 civic hb and I have HKS coilovers.

Yes you can take off the rubber stripping on the inside. Those acutually cause rust, if you notice most of the new gen honda's dont have then any more. There are ways to roll the fender, some use baseball bats in the wheel well but be weary for your paint can chip and then ur phucked.

PS Does anyone know a good way of rolling in the rear fenders??? I am also needing to do this but using a baseball bat seems kinda harsh, any ideas?

on the front if you do remove it you will get major dirt/water coming throught + rusty doors and hinges, especially if it snows during winter months in your area

better way is to get proper offset wheels, or customize and cutout only pieces where it rubs

If you take off the one plastic snap thing that holds the fender liner on ... the one in the middle on top ... then that should stop a lot of your rubbing. What is the offset on your wheels? What size are your tires? Those both factor into why you rub.

Look at the fender liner to see where you are rubbing. That will tell you what you need to change. Chances are it is just the plastic snap thing.

I have 15*7 w/ 43 offset. I have 205/50 tires. I only seem to have rubbing in the front. I will look at the fender and see what is rubbing.
