hi guys i have a 1990 dx hatch with a d15b7, it has a multiport conversion using a6 intake and electronics. i tried fitting the y8 manifold on and it wouldn't fit my head. so i notched the flange for the lumps on the back of the head and trimmed the flange down some so it would fit on my head. it has a huge vacume leak at the flange, engine surges bad too. if i spray carb spray on the flange it smoothes out. why didnt it fit and what do i do about the air injection holes

 

It fits the head out of the box unless you have the air injection holes which you do. You want to seal everyone of those holes up as in this configuration each is an individual vacuum leak.

 

has anyone else had to mod the intake to fit the head?

 

no it should bolt right up, just the air injection holes need to be blocked, also make sure you have the manual intake.
