I may be wrong about this, but i do believe that the JDM and USDM syncro's are not interchangeable.

I've been doing a lot of research on this too as I need to get a new tranny for my car soon. To my knowledge the transmission (ONLY TRANNY) can be interchanged. YS1 as u said has similar gear ratios. Also it's technically the only USDM B series cable tranny out there. I talked to a few mechs and they all said logically it should work. As for real experience, I haven't met anyone yet

JDM/USDM/EDM/GDM/TDM/HKDM/MDM/CDM/ADM B series motors are interchangeable.

Cable B series trannys are interchangeable.

You are correct. If you have jspec YS1 w/ or w/o lsd and your gears or synchro's die you can just use the gears or synchro's from the USDM YS1. Same gears, same synchros.

<--that's why I paid extra for my ys1.

The B17A is a pretty fuking rare car. Do u think they still MAKE this tranny for those who want brand new ones? Or is rebuild the only solution?

they might not make the trans any more but you can still buy parts from acura to fix the trans. that they sold.

Would not stop making parts to fix trans.

Easy dude!
I just sent that for general info only.

As for your question,I only tought that b16 came with J1/S1 or Y1.
I made a few web search for a YS1 JDM.I only came with one site that tell that there is a YS1 JDM.
I dunno if the site is right since a lot of ratio/code for the B-serie trans site have some difference between them.

From what I have read, there is some way to change some syncro for a JDM trans.
But you have to know that even if you change the syncro on your trans you may still have problem with it.
Since there is some little teeth before the gears and those wear too.

If there is such a YS1 JDM and it is the same ratio as the USDM YS1,I would think that those too are the same.

I don't want to be a pain in the a**.I'm just trying to help you out and learn too.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help but I am not tring to have one of those posts that you ask about one thing and 5 posts later it turns into something of the same thing but not.

That post was not toward you personally it was for everyone who looked at this.

Now it's MY turn!

I have a JDM YS1 with LSD. The USDM YS1 has all the SAME gears and synchros.

like I said. If you bought a JDM YS1 tranny like I did from hondamotorsonline.com and a gear when bad or input shaft or all the synchros you could just rebuild it back to its original status using USDM YS1 parts.

I'm done here.

Edit: I have more add. like a link, with info!: http://www.ff-squad.com/Bgears.htm This should answer all your questions.!
