for those with 92-95 hatches..i need help on hooking up my tach...i have 4 wires...correct me if im wrong...
white-lighting
black-ground
red-power/switch
green-tach signal


my question is..for those who have a helms manual or who knows...from behind the gauge cluster which wire is which...i did this before with my 2000 CIVIC...but lost the site with the directions...please anyone help...

 

red wire is power...get a male fuse kinda thing and plug into an unused spot in your fuse panel by your knee.

black wire: ground it to any metal

green wire: pop your hood..driver side..near firewall...see that wire with the black cap/plug on it? tap into that wire. its tach signal

white wire..i dunno youre on ur own.

 

white wire goes to the illumination dimmer on the dash

i am trying to wire my tach tonigh and i can't get the thing to illuminate correctly. i poped out my dimmer switch and when i hook the white autometer wire to one of the red wires coming off the dimmer switch, tach lights up with the lights and won't dim. if i hook it up to the other red wire, tach dims when dash gets brighter and tach gets brighter when dash dims, and it never seems to get full bright. wtf is up with that??
