Default Missin

Every time i go to start my car and drive it for about 3 min, it will start to miss when i try to shift from 2nd to 3rd, and i will usually only do this for about 5 min then it will quit and wont do it again till i go to start it up again. my check engine light does not work at the moment so i am working to troubleshoot that, but does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? im running a 96 obd2 ls motor in a 91 obd1 civic si.

well its probably something in the distributor itself. ignition coil. but id try that last cause its $$$ mine was like 80 bucks. try changing the cap and rotor and see what happens
if that doesnt do it, see if you can test your car out on another dizzy that you know works for sure

i replaced the distributor cap and rotor button the same time i did the plugs. so i know they are good. i took it up to my local race shop to get some work do on it and he seems to think that it has something to do with the fact that its a 96 obd2 motor in a 91 obd0 car so im most likely throwing some codes. but i have no way to tell, because the check engine light does not work. i might end up swaping the ecu for a obd1 and see what happens then.

well lets see
its an obd2 ls, B18B1, correct?
so if you are running an obd0 ecu, then you have to run an obd0 ls distributor.
if you are running on an obd1 ls ecu(PR4) then you have to use an OBD1 OR OBD2 LS/B20 distributor with either an adapter harness, or the plugs repinned to the obd0 plug so it fits your harness. you can find out the model numbers of the correct distributors online at acura or honda parts websites.

if you have an obd1 ecu, then you have an adapter harness inbetween where the original harness plugs into the ecu, and the ecu that you are running right now.
the adapter(jumper) harness should look something like this

hope this helps

im running a obd2 ls integra ecu and the same distributor...im thinking that because it being an obd2 ecu in a obd0 car, that i am throwing some codes like a secondary o2 sensor, which i obviously dont have

nobody else has any other ideas? ive done and checked everything ive been told to and it still does misses! i also has a rough idle sometimes to. i pulled the plug wires out one cylinder at a time and it dropped idle evenly across all four. i have ngk blue wires which arnt but a year or so old so i know that they are fine. like i said the plugs are a little over 2 weeks old and i have checked them and they seem fine short of being a little hotter than i think they should be when i pulled them out. i had the distributor harness replaced by my local race shop and added about 4 grounds to my system in hoses that that would fix the idle, but again no change. the odd thing is that it actually idled better before the distributor harness was fixed, but before i couldnt even touch the harness without it killing my motor. please let me know some othere stuff that i can look at! i am currently working on getting an obd1 ecu and conversion harness so that i can get it tuned, because a few of my friends said that i should try that. the guy i am having work on/tune it was the guy that got 3rd place over all in pinks all out in bristol tn. he had a 600whp crx then which is now up to almost 900whp with spray. so i think he knows what he is doing, its just because my project isnt paying him $2k like all his others, he wont really help me that much. PLEASE help me!!
