car is a 1990 DX sedan. i have bought my friends gauge cluster from an 90 Si hatchback. i installed it on my sedan and all works except the door indicator light. when the ignition is on, it operates normally. but if the ignition is off, the door indicator would light if my door is closed and the light would turn off if i open the door.

now i discovered that when i put the dome light to "door," the door indicator light would turn on if my doors are closed. if i put the dome light to "off," my door indicator would operate as normal. this is when the ignition is off.

there is no problem when the ignition is on, only when the iginition is off. was it because my car is a matic and the gauge is for a manual?

Well, the sedan has 4 doors, and the Si has 2...maybe that's why it's tripping out. I don't think auto to manual makes a difference.
