I've got a question for the guys that DD their cars with Recaros.
Do you guys keep them covered up with seat covers when you drive them? I've had mine in my car for 2 years and have kept them covered up the entire time.
They are a little less grippy with the covers but the benefits outweigh that one problem:
1) Keeps them from getting dirty
2) Protects the suede and tweed from snags and tears
3) Prevents wear on the bolsters
4) Stops sun fading on the sides near the windows
5) Disguises them so they look like normal seats. Even the guys at the garage I go to were surprised I had them in there, because the gray cover keeps them on the DL.
Anyone else do this?

I went to a sporting goods store and bought a XXXL hoody, cut the arms off and threw it on my seat. Noone could tell it was a recaro and no sun fade. Looked ghetto but the theives didn't look twice.

BlueIntegraBoy, that's a nice cover. I am thinking about getting the black one now. I've just got a generic AutoZone one now.
When my buddy used to park his EK on the street, he put a big fuzzy gorilla cover from Kragen or somewhere just to put on for parking. I'd say it worked pretty well

If a thief wants to see what's in your car, he only has to look inside your window.
If he knows what he's looking at, he can tell. I can't be the only person to know this.

I hate seat covers. If I spend good money on seats im going to sit in them, why keep them nice for the next guy? Let the guy you sell them to later on down the road rock covers.
I look at aftermarket seats like wear items any way. There kinda like tires you try new ones every couple years when they start to wear out.
