Default Transmission Removal: Tranny Weight

Anyone know how much the ITR tranny weighs? Can I remove it with out a lift (ie. by hand with my own muscles)?

Depend on how strong you are. I usually need a second set of hands.

removing it is alright with one person, but I needed a second set of hands to put the tranny back in. pretty awkward!

I just rearanged my storage and I had to moved two of thesr suckers around. Let me tell ya, they are heavy. With the grease and tranny oil, it is slippery. So, please be safe and get another set of helping hands.

yeah they are approximately 90 pounds, i would get a second person just to help make sure you don't gouge your paint or any dumb mistakes like that.

I lift them in and out by my self with no problems even on the hoist over my head but I'm not built like a 13 year old girl, lol.

Its easy for it to come down, put it on a floor jack to bring it back up.

use a floor jack under it, piece of cake. putting it back in is a little tougher alone but drink your milk and eat your spinach and you should be able to do it.

Yeah, I pull them by myself. But, I get a pal to help put it back in.
No lift or hoist!

i use an engine hoist and dangle it infront of the motor. then you just wrestle it in. using the hoist keeps you from having to do a push up with it and also it's much easier than a floor jack that limits your movement.
