I'm not sure what it is, and if anybody have any idea... Everytime I race my car, there's this high pitched rattling underneath the hood on high RPM's.

I've never had it before. I don't think its my CatBack or anything... It's just annoying.

Anybody?

 

could be something loose. is it coming from inside the motor? if you can tell?

 

I've heard that the heat shield often comes loose. Might want to check that out.

I will take a look at the heat shield.

And I don't think it's coming from the inside the motor. I could tell though that it's somewhere underneath. I'll check it out.

Sorry to hijack, have same type of noise, what's the fix for these shields? Friendly muffler shop, or remove, or??? Thanx!!!

 

heat shields are a possiblility, if you still have the original springs on the exhaust flanges try replacing those too. i found a tsb (technical service bulletin) from acura on alldata that the springs tend to weaken and cause a buzzing/rattle noise.

 

Check and see if the heat shield is comming loose on the headers..when mine was loose it was doing the same thing except it was always on deacceleration
