Default EJ subframe into an EK

ive been told an ej subframe with a manual steering rack will bolt right up to an Ek(Em1 in my case)?! The reason y i ask is cuz by next fall i am going to be kseries n i need to clean out my shed n the subframe has been sitting for a while n i wanted to put it in my car n sell the ek one, but im not sure if it will bolt right up n still be able to use my ek rear mount? Any info will help, thanks honda-tech!

You can use a USDM 1996-2000 Civic CX steering rack on a 1996-2000 Civic EJ6, EJ7, EJ8, and EM1. I've done it for my EJ8. It will not fit on an EK due to right hand drive incompatability, unless you drill holes in your right hand drive Japanese market Civic with "EK" chassis code.

let me rephrase it a lil- i have a 99 usdm si with a b16. i want to remove that subframe with steering rack and install a 92-95 civic subframe with manual steering rack. Will it bolt up using my 99 si rear mount? ima keep it a b series for the next couple of months while i get everythin i need for the k swap cuz i want to use the EKK2 mounts for better ground clearence!

yes a 92-95 subframe will bolt into a 97-2000 civic and no you will need to use the 92-95 rear mount with 94-2001 integra rear tranny bracket

I've ran a power steering rack, a power rack with the belt removed and now a manual rack. The power rack lacks road feel. The power rack, depowered feels nice at speed but is a pain while parallel parking and other very, very low speed manuevers. The manual rack is kinda slow due to the low gear ratio necessary for it to not require assistance for old women to be able to steer the car.

PhrequenC, are you running the rack open or have you added a breather or anything?
