so when i turn on my deck (cd player) my cluster light and my instrument lights come on. also when i turn my head lights on my deck needs to be on for the cluster lights to work. any ideas wat it could be cause i want listen to music and not worry about my lights being on in daylight

 

disconnect the 'illum' wire and see if that works...usually it's orange and says illumination on it.

it's one of the wires bundled up with the the other wires in the harness that connects to the deck. if you have an aftermarket deck, it's usually an orange wire in that bundle. i could be totally off but i've seen posts before about this wire causing problems with gauge clusters.

 

i'll give that a try when i wake up tomorrow haha hope it works

 

i tried the illum wire but it didn't help i think i cross one of the wire thanks for the help fili but i think i could figure it out myself
