well im pickin up a gsr this weekend and i dont know much bout different kind of oils.
i wanna be sure and run the best oil i can.
what is everyones OPINION on oil
i know to run 5w30 but brand?
synthetic or not?

mobil 1 5w-30 fully synthetic with a hamp oil filter is what i do for my gsr.

Walmart Supertech Synthetic 5w30 + Wal Mart filter

Probably better than everything suggested so far in this thread and cheaper.

 

 

I don't buy filters from walmart because all they have in mine is Fram. I haven't tried their oil, but I'd be willing to give the synthetic a shot.

I use Castrol Syntec and Wix filters. I change it every 6000 miles. No need to change a synthetic at 3000 as long as you have a quality filter that's not going to malfunction before then.

I hear Purolator filters are exceptionally good too. The K&N and Mobil1 filters are just rebadged purolators, and are internally identical, but cost $4-6 more.

 

run amsoil! i have herd and seen so many test and its the best oil ever. i had a friend who sold it and he drove 10k in between oil changes and even at 10k the oil isn't black or broken down.

 

ive read that mobile 1 isnt fully synthetic anymore

 

i go with royal purple
