Default Brake judder problem

I installed some autozone rotors along with axxis ultimates about 5k miles ago.

I bedded them in properly but every time I come to a hard brake they judder real bad. It feels like the abs gets engaged prematurely..

Is it possible that the stopping power of the pads is making the abs kick in like that? I wanna autocross my car but I cant if it keeps this **** up!!

What do I do?

Next time it rains, find an empty parking lot, get up to a moderate speed and stomp the brakes so that the ABS activates. Compare that to what you've been feeling to see if it is actually the ABS that's been activating.

You're sure you bedded the pads properly according to Axxis' specific recommendations? I've been running AutoZone rotors, but with AutoZone pads for several years and hundreds of thousands of miles and don't have those types of problems you describe. So I'm pretty sure it's not the rotors, unless you just got a bad set.

Does the pedal pulse quickly along with hearing the ABS pump? Or is it a slower pulsing of the pedal when you're braking? If you're not sure what the ABS pump sounds like, try what Patrick said, or find some gravel/loose ground and stomp on it there to engage it.

If it's a pulsing, you're rotors are out of true and probably need to be turned. You may just have gotten a bad set and they needed that out of the box. This is usually very inexpensive to have done, especially if you take them off yourself and bring them to a shop.

Given that you're saying it only happens on a hard brake...I'm guessing it's just your ABS though.

Ive already turned them a little..

When I first installed them I had brand new rotors from autozone and I didnt clean them off with brake cleaner and the pads picked up all that oil crap.

Since then I took off the pads, sanded them down a little and sprayed them w brake cleaner. I also turned the rotors a little. **** is super ANNOYING!

And that is the closest thing I can think that would cause this...

How can you "turn them a little"? The rotor has either been mounted on a lathe and turned, or not.
