San Diego is cracking down on Modded cars

what makes me upset is they say "Don't street race"
But at the same time, they keep shutting down legal drag strips. You can run 1/8th mile at qualcomm but that's about it in san diego.
California speedway has a few 1/4 mile open drag days a year which 100's of people pile into. You spend over 12 hours waiting for less than 1 minute of racing.
It would be a MUCH more effective use of tax dollars to just build a public raceway where people can enjoy their automobiles in a safe/legal manner. Sadly, politicians don't like the sport, don't appreciate the sport, etc etc. so that wont happen.

I wish somebody would have told me about a V-afc before I dumped all the money into my civic so I could race it. Damn for just a couple hundred dollars you can have a "racing mobile", not to be mistaken for the Bat-mobile, this is the real deal!
Also would be a shame if they crushed that car

I'm sure with a lawyer and a couple of dollars in fines the owner can get his car back. I cant see how they can always find extra tax dollars to prevent/form anti street racing teams, but they cant do that for auto theft or to open a race track.
Btw, how come you never see domestics getting pulled over for this kind of thing?

Street racing is off the table for me, period! But why is it such a focus of this so called illegal activity where they say ppl are getting killed when there are so many murders every single day due to gang/drug related violence? Amazing how politics pics out a target and focuses on things that are almost trivial compaired to the bigger problems at the moment.
I'm in no way suggesting street racing is a small thing where innocent ppl get hurt or killed but why do I feel deep down this is mostly aimed at the non-domestic crowd?
