Icon6 Turbo D-series build questions

Current setup - D15bjdm Stock motor, Garrett t-25 7psi ,450cc inj., y8 intake manifold, b18 60mm thottle Body, fuel pump and fpr, full 2.5 exaust

Setup runs pretty good but the motor has a leaky rear main and the clutch is starting to weaken. so I figure with all the parts I have i could build a pretty good motor and sell the d15b since it runs good.

Parts I have- Full d16z6 motor block old and tired, head recently rebuilt, full d16y7 motor original motor in my car has 170xxx but is very clean and runs very very well. d16y8 head, d16 arp headstuds, d16 arp rodbolts, d15bjdm tranny, and d16y7 tranny

My plan is to take the z6head and y7block give the oil pump a good porting and shimming, put the ARP's top and bottom get all fresh gaskets and seals with a new clutch and possibly a lightweigt flywheel. usingcompression calculators it says this will give about 9.6:1 should I use this setup and put it to 10-12 psi? what tranny should i use the shorter jdm, or the longer dx? I beleive the z6 pistons have lower compresion shouldi use those ?

Any experiance or feedback is welcome

as many turbo threads that have been started here in the technical forum, yours will be locked. please go to the FORCED INDUCTION forum for all your turbo/super charger needs.

ex trans ftw! the motor should hold IMO its all in the tune and inspection of parts when you have everything disassembled

if u do motor work, go all the way and get a nice set of pistons like wiseco or something and get some eagle rods. but thats just me. the compression on the vitaras in my opinion are too low but again it all depends on the setup and tune also

yes i do have experiance in motor work but with the amount of money iv spent over the years on cars im really not looking forward to buying pistons rods etc. this car is my DD and im not looking to make crazy numbers just a good fun reliable car. I feel i can accomplish this with the parts I already own and just buy the obvious gaskets, seals, tb wp and a good clutch. just looking here for some experiance and thoughts
