approaching 60 000kms...what would you guys do
I bought my 06si in feb. And i was wondering if there is any thing i should do to my car maintenaince wise. So far i had the third gear replaced, my steering cable reel and dome light assembly aswell. Now lets just say that the previous owner beat the car with 87 octane. So my question is...what would you guys do to bring it back optimum performace
i say just do the basics...oil change, check brakes (replace if necessary), fluids etc etc.
if your previous owner used 87 on a car that is recommended 91 i dont know why you bought that car. to me thats just a sign that he doesnt take care of the car. but anyways, id assume its fine as long as you dont hear any knocks. ECU's will automatically adjust to lower octane, you will notice less power and less mpgs. hopefully the previous owner only did this once or twice. if you're hearing a knock then you might need to have some engine work done. just start using 91 and hopefully no knocks. and do not use any of those fuel additives stuff to try and make your car better.

I was using the gas thing as an example. I dont know who owned my car before... I got her from the dealership...i was wonderin if i should do an engine flush or use some injector clearer..stuff like that
^ there is no need to do an engine flush or anything like that unless you are actually having a problem. if you got your car from the dealership i wouldnt worry about it. dealerships have checklists to "certify" the car. if you bought the car from a family dealership, then i would be worried.
do you feel like your car is not performing how it is suppose to be?
