Default My hoodride wagon *zero offset*

The text might not make sense, pieced together from two local forum posts.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple months back I was bitten by the Civic wagon bug, possibly the weirdest bug out there. Searched for a while and found a couple in AZ but nothing that made me want to go through the trouble of getting it to LC. I eventually lucked out and found one here in town that was put up for sale after dude (CS.com user "oilspot") bought a blue wagon to replace it.

At that point I abandoned my plans of swapping a recently acquired B16A2 into my then DD Civic hatch and put both the motor and the car up for sale with the hopes of snatching the wagon up. Long story short, I got the wagon. Spent a day or so cleaning the ****ing **** out of it, vacuuming, cleaning seats, cleaning all the plastics and even though the interior still needs attention, I'm pleased with it's current state of cleanliness.

oilspot's pics.

It was purchased in stock form aside from eBay coilover sleeves, super ghetto exhaust that consists of a Supertrap dirtbike muffler and some stickers. The agreement was that the coilovers would be returned back to oilspot so I threw the hatch's HX wheels and lowering springs on it for a while until I realized just how shitty they were. Ended up getting some BNIB K-Sport Kontrol Pros for a song and dance off of some dude on H-T, also threw some K-Sport LCAs a couple of weeks later for "fun".

On lowering springs (notice the ride height in the rear) :meh:

On K-Sports and evened out.

I've thrown a couple of other little things at it here and there that I haven't yet taken pics of... The biggest Broadway mirror I've ever seen (purchased for stupid cheap from Atomic Auto, good lookin' out, Cece!) Memphis Audio speakers front and rear, EDM lower center console, among other things. I've also got a few things still waiting to go on, wheel bearings, ARP extended studs and other boring things...

Well, I guess the whole reason I'm making this thread now rather than back when I first purchased it is because I'm finally overall pleased with the way it looks from the outside. Yes, I know it's got rust and dents and the paint sucks but I'm cool with that. It's a hoodride DD, I got caught up in all that **** with the hatch and set myself up to spend way too much on something I bought to save gas while I fix my fast car... This one is going to be a little simpler.

Without further rambling, here sits my almost hella flush wagon on some 15x8 0ET 002s. I'm going to go a little lower in the front once I get a camber kit and lower in the rear once I get some shorter springs but like I said, I'm happy.

Looks awkward as is, really needs to be a lot lower and more camber to make decent of those wheels.

Wasn't sure if that part was in there or not and didn't prrof-read since I'm at work and not supposed to be on the 'net anyways...

I had to raise the front up to clear the 002's, I need to get more camber in the front and shorter springs in the to go any lower. Both are planned, but getting the AC fixed and power windows/locks take precedence over ride height.

Thanks!

Word to that. It will look dope whenever you change the stance.

^LOL to the post above. Do you know how many things you could consider a bandwagon in the Honda game?

I love wagons. But the zero offset isnt my cup of tea, unless the tires are tucked. But keep up the good work. The wagon looks great.

I feel that, hopefully I get the ride height where I want it in a month or so, but like I said, out here in the desert I'd rather be cool than look cool.

In all fairness, the only reason I knew these wheels would fit was because a HCW.com member with a super clean YR88 wagon has already rocked them, but thanks!

I have no problem with the fitment... I'm just sick of seeing people buy Sport Max and Axis knock-off's for the sake of a "low offset" wheel. Banded steelies have more personality.

x2, proper (not low) offset is something that requires a good amount of thought behind. It isn't as easy as sportmaxx would lead you to believe. With the lowest offset based on wheel width available, then finding the wheel either closest to that or getting lucky and finding one spot on. Plus the best tire size to get it to look right. It isn't a point and click process.

So when you go ahead and make it into an easy 3-step program like Sportmaxx does, you get people with retarded fitment (see above). Just for the sake of being "old school".

i would have to disagree. i think his ride height is perfect. i think we have this misconception that you have to tuck your low offset wheels for them to be acceptable. i applaud sportmaxx for making these wheels available for the average hobbyist. maybe this man doesn't want to drive around with massive camber. i love the fact that he's doing it his way & not giving a **** about the norm

I said nothing about ride height. In fact I would agree there is no need to be completely slammed all the time. Sure sometimes it looks good, but other times it looks goody.

I said fitment. Fitment, as in, his wheels do not fit right. Note the tread sticking out past the fender. He whouldn't have to run as you said "massive camber" if his wheels fit right.

i just dont see the problem with his wheel offset being wider then his body. maybe it's just me but it's nice to see someone do something out of the box every once in a while. to you it looks gaudy to others & I it looks unique
