Default Header Choice?

Anybody have any good options on headers? I have an lsv which i have a 4-1 header now. But from my dyno results I was told a 4-2-1 would be better. I have an LSV with GSR head. Fully built internals with pro 2s. Im looking around but IDK where to begin due to the many different choices available. DOes anyone have any suggestions? Id like somthing afforadble and something that makings good power.

Search much?

If you're looking for a good "bang for the buck" header, the Narrow replica makes good power.

This will probably get turned into a BS rant thread about replicas but whatever.

I've heard that about 4-2-1 always being superior to 4-1 so many times, it's crazy. The Narrow has been shown to outperform the Rage Tri-Y and Tri-Y big tube. Take that advice with a grain of salt.

I wouldn't look at ANY header for less than ~$400.
Narrow Replica will be your best bang-for-buck at ~$450 shipped.
Skunk2 is a really nice piece at ~$800 shipped.

Based on what you listed, those would probably be the best choices.

Blake...he said he didn't want something "cheap-o". Doesn't mean he wanted to spend $800+ on a header.

There are some good choices in the $500 range. They're copies, yeah...but decent quality.

i dont believe, imo, a cheapo dictates a replica. If you want something good, you buy the real thing.

No Bro...just b/c he wants a quality piece doesn't mean he has to spend $800+ to get there. There are some quality copies out there for considerably less that will more than likely meet his performance and quality needs.

Yeah...pieces like SMSP ARE the best quality. I'm not arguing that. But you don't always need "The best". Sometimes you just need something "good enough." It's not cutting corners, it's just reality.

I mean...if I were in the middle of a project....would I be better off buying an SMSP masterpiece or a Narrow AND put that extra $350 toward some pistons? We can sit here and argue this all day, I'd think. But I think you see what I mean.

Youre not a very good salesman.

You almost sound like a guy justifying having a fat girlfriend.

You are going to be going in circles if you try to justify a replica. You will not convince him that replicas can meet the average person's performance/quality needs.

But you ARE implying that you "have to" spend $800+ to get a SMS header...

Didn't like the narrow plus I heard the narrow doesn't make the power u need up top like a Rage or highend would

I guess Im not looking for a cheap product. But something someones had with good experience with. Even if it is expensive I just want to know what people have tried and what they think is the best.

Yes they are. Everyone seems to think that SMS only builds stainless manifolds...not true.
