valve cover question

Default valve cover question

is it cool to paint a valve cover with automotive paint or does it get to hot. if possible is there a certain way that you have to prep it.

well actually if the paint can resist 500 degreese of heat your fine they actually have spray paint at your local hardware that actually say up to 500 degreses heat resistance so the answer to your question is yes its cool and no it wont get ruined unless it isn't 500 degrese or more heat resistant.

Most any paint will be fine. I have tested automotive paint on engine blocks and even there the heat is not too much. Keep in mind your engine itself likely will not get over 250 and the valve cover even less.

Prep it like you would any other paint project, clean, sand, clean, sand, clean, etc.
