My 97 accord would crank but not start so I checked the coil wire. I checked the resistance with a multimeter and it read 4k ohms. I bought a new wire and I swear it read 0 ohms before I put it on. The car started right up with the new wire. It seemed to idle a little rough though. Today it wouldn't start at all again. I thought I may have gotten a defective wire so I exchanged it for a new one. The car won't start with the new wire either. I took the new wire off and it reads 4k ohms also. Is there supposed to be any resistance in ignition wires. I'm thinking that changing the wire and the car starting was a coincidence. I am getting a spark from the wire when I place the end against the heat shield. I'm not sure if it is strong enough though. Anybody have any other ideas to try? I'm thinking it may be a fuel issue and I'm changing the filter tomorrow. The car has 141k on it and I don't know the last time that was changed.
