Swap from a d15b7 to a d16a on a del sol...
Hi there,
I have bought a JDM d16a engine to replace the d15b7 engine in my 95 del sol s. I think rod bearings or crankshaft bearing went bad on the d15b7...The person who sold me the engine told me that the engine came out of a 98 vehicle (He said civic but none of the US civic had this engine) and that if i were to buy parts for a say base model 98 honda civic dx, everything should be interchangeable (that is rear main seal, water pump, timing belt, valve cover gasket etc...) The car and the new engine is sitting at the mechanic shop, fitment yet to be determined...My question is that what have I really gotten myself into? Could you please provide me with some insight about this? Thanks!
P.S. The d16a I got is a SOHC non-vtec engine...
