Default Engine Swap Question

A friend gave me a 1995 Del Sol S. It runs ok but it has over 200k miles on it. I came into posession of a 1990 civic dx with only 30k miles on it. Any chance I can do an engine swap (easily)? Do I need more information on the engines before I can know this. My friend is a mechanic and owns his own shop so he said he will do it if I can find out if they are a compatable swap.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I HIGHLY doubt that 1990 Dx has 30k on it.

I may be mistaken but youll need to use the intake manifold from the Del Sol S onto the Dx engine along with the distributor.

I would just buy a D16Z6 and save yourself the head ache.

If I had a 1990 Civic DX with 30,000 miles on it there is no way in hell I'd swap that engine into a POS del sol.

I'd daily that beast or restore/sell it.

You can get a replacement engine for your Del Sol for dirt cheap from craigslist or an engine importer.

And if it "runs okay" why replace it at all?

Agreed ^^

Do a nice tune up on the engine and leave it alone. Definitely replace the timing belt though.

Well the civic was my mother in law's who passed away so i know the miles are correct. Wife doesn't want to keep the car for personal reasons and i figured rather than just getting rid of it it would make sense to swap the engine out since her del sol had so many miles. so basically i have a free engine and if it wasn't too dificult my buddy would do the swap. are there other parts that cold swap out, suspension, etc.

Thanks again.

Just sell the car.
The swap might be more headaches than you would like since its an OBD0 swap and your Del Sol is OBD1. Get your head rebuilt, slap on a new OEM head gasket, do the timing belt and drive the Del Sol S till it dies.

The swap is a direct bolt on but your mechanic wont know about the little things like dizzy conversion harness, IACV plugs etc.
