Wife is Jazz about the Fit
Sorry mods - No technical questions. I read enough where I don't have any now.
Here goes. Wife wants a Fit now, so how can I say no
.
Fit Sport Automatic.
- Does any of you actually have the purple one? Or seen it in person?

When we returned our Accord (lease) back, we visited both dealerships often. Never seen a purple one. Dealer was no real help. It's purple or nothing. With wife, it's all about the color. I don't need to tell them our top 3 choices of color. Purple or nothing. Is this even a popular color? Expect to pay full price+ ?
- Does any of you Fit owners have kids? Ok, I know Fit is not the "family car." We already have 2 including a minivan. The Fit will be DD and drop off/pick up from preschool. Yes, a car seat does fit. But for Fit owners who are parents, tell me anything about transporting kids in a Fit.
- Fit have safety features, like 6 airbags, ACE body, ABS, etc, etc. And I know size is not always an indication of safety, but it sort of is. Size does matter, and size always win in the end. Are Fit owners concern? Yes, it's not a Suburban. Tell me anything.

They have a 5 rating in front and rear crash tests, I know that much.
Also, if you go on honda's website, you'll see the available colors if you go under "build your fit". Purple is not an option. You are seeing the blue metallic even though I will agree with you, it appears purplish in that picture.

I've seen the blue. The "purple" is call "Blackberry Pearl." I was just calling it "purple." Sorry.
Right. That looks more the the Supersonic Blue Pearl that honda used in it's Integra GSRs in the late 90s. It had a purple tinge to it. Those pictures of the blackberry, are far too dark when compared to the honda picture from the original author.

To the OP, 2 things.
1) If color is that important, buy one in black and have it painted immediately. Yeah, it will seem strange to have a brand new car painted, but in the grand scheme of things it isn't that much cost in comparison to the rest of the car, and with what new cars cost you should be certain you'll be happy with it.
2) Size isn't everything when safety comes into play. A suburban might have more room, but it lacks the crumple zones a modern car has. A good friend of mine was sideswiped in his 07 Fit by an Explorer going 50mph. The Fit was rolled 6 and 1/2 times (ended up upside down). They needed to use the jaws of life to crack open the car to extract him. He suffered 1 injury, to the head, because his laptop came out of the passenger seat and hit him in the head. The Explorer driver needed 5 days in the hospital to recover from the impact. My friend (the Fit driver) had less injuries (would have had none if not for laptop).

I'm making the assumption that you would want to spend as little as possible on repainting it, which is why black.
I could live with a purple car that happened to have a black engine bay, and maybe the door jambs. Now, if the engine bay was red, blue, or white (for example), it would look rather funky. Painting the engine bay is an added cost, and so are the door jambs but those you would probably want matched anyway.
If you like rare colors, you could take mine for a test
I have a Black Amethyst Pearl (paint code RP-37P, original Honda paint)
Here is one picture of it in direct sunlight:
Here is another one, in partly overcast and not direct sunlight:
As you see of the pictures when it is dark or not direct sunlight the car seems dark or close to black. But when the sun beams hit the paint it starts to glow!
I just love this color!

- It is the same paint. Just looks different under different light conditions.
- You mentioned OEM Honda paint. But was it OEM on the Fit?
- You are not in the U.S. Is this color the same as the Blackberry for U.S. models?
For Blackberry model owners, does your paint do the same thing? Meaning look different under different light?
But the two pictures I put up was the same car (mine) with the same paint under diffrent light conditions. Just so you would understand that those pearl colors would react diffrent under diffrent lights, and the photo you provided could be true under spesific light conditions.
It is OEM on a EUDM Jazz. But since it is a Honda color, and I gave you the color code, you should be able to get your car painted in the US with this color.
Even if I don't have the Blackberry I can say that they do. Just look at images of BBP cars here on this forum or on the Fitfreak.net forum.
I own a blue sensation pearl n i love the color. but when i was shopping for the car, one of my dealers offered me a BBP w/navi for 19300 i passed because i didn't like the color. i was able to see the BBP in all different types of weather conditions. When it is in the direct sun light, it shines n you can really tell that it is purple-ish color. after the sun was down (this is like back in january '09) around like 8pm when i was dark as hell, it was a little difficult to tell between the BSP, BBP, and the CBP.
Now i don't have any kids of my own yet, but i do have a god son who is 5 yrs and a his sister (i think i may be her god father also) who is 3 weeks old. my GS is in a Evenflo Convertable Car seat and she is in a chicco infant carseat. they can both fit in the car perfectly. the girl sits behind me. im 5'9 and im able to sit a little comfortable with her sitting there. normally i like to put the seat all the way back but when shes in the car i have to bring it up a little.
i hope this helps. im on fitfreak.net with the same SN n im mostly on there so PM me if you need anything else.
