Sunroof controled by 2 Aux CH
Hello all,
1998 Honda Civic EX
Cliffor 12.5X
I'm looking to wire up my sunroof to be controlled by 2 of my alarms aux channels; one channel to open and one channel to close. I don't the sunroof to close when I arm the car, I just want the sunroof to open and close when I push the desired aux buttons. I tried the 530T and 529T last summer but because the Civic sunroof has the three step sunroof (fully open, vent, fully closed) I have given up and just want to wire the sunroof directly to two channels. I know that I will need two relays but I am not 100% sure how to wire everything.
I have the following wires:
Sunroof Relay:
Green/Red
Green/Yellow
Alarm Aux Channels:
Grey/Black (ch 6)
White/Black (ch 5)
Do I need to use the wires from the sunroof switch? I only have the relay/motor wires ready so far.
Thanks.

You need two relays. 1 relay for the close and one for the open. I find it easier to Grab the wires in the driver pillar. Here we go!
Relay one-open sunroof
85 to alarm neg aux output
86 to 12 volt constant( if not it will only work with the key duh)
Cut the sunroof open wire.
30 to sunroof side of cut wire
87a to switch side of cut wire
87 to 12 volts constant
relay 2-close sunroof
85 to alarm aux neg output
86 to 12 volt constant
cut the sunroof close wire
30 to sunroof side of cut
87a to switch side of close cut
87 to 12 volt constant
make sure you fuse the 12 volt input to the relays. You can also use a dei door lock relay pack to do this too if you have one laying around.

Awesome. Thanks. Do I need to incorporate the switch wires? I tried this really quick in my parking garage and blew a fuse. This weekend I'll try again.
