Default HyTech's exhaust system completed

I know there's alot of you waiting on HyTech's full header-cat-exhaust system so hopefully this will come as good news. Today I picked up my car after almost a full month of test fitting at HyTech. John said he was very happy with how it turned out and he has the jig all set so he can reproduce the catback for everyone else now. When I was in the shop it didn't look like he had much else going on other than Type R systems since that's all that him and his two guys were working on. So hopefully this means alot of will finally get what you've been waiting for. Here's some pics for you all.

And anyone wondering about the cat, it's made by Renault. Supposedly it's flows better, is cleaner, and lasts longer than the Carsound 94006 that he used to include in his packages. Emissions tested super clean, at 15mph the HC% was 0.00 and CO was half that of LEV standards.

Well he's used the twin-loop muffler design for a long time now on other cars, this definitely isn't the first application of it. I don't know who was first, but oh well.

so him copying mugen's exhaust and comptech copying his header, they all might as well just form up and make one company

I can see it now...

Comptech's pricing, HyTech's power, and Mugen's cachet.

It sounds awesome. Almost like stock really just a little deeper. If I can find a cheap place to get a digital sound recorder I'll post a soundclip. I'm going to dyno probably in two weeks and we can compare to my old DC JDM 4-1, Carsound cat, and Comptech exhaust setup I had dynoed at one of our dyno days at Import Builders.

I spoke with John on Monday and he has a race boat(think Ms. Budweiser at 1/2 scale) that is to be finished before he starts sending the exhaust system out.

The cat is for the Renault Diesel...retail just for the cat is $650 , although it is something that he has incorporated into the exhaust system with a revised price of $950, which is the pricing difference from the Carsound cat to the other cat. Flow should not be an issue with this cat as it is the same cat that the CARB laboratories have been using on the Ferrari F40, McLaren F1...and other very high-end exotic cars that are imported into the US and must have a cat. The canister is 5" in diameter, and I think it's ~12" long(can't remember that part off the top of my head)

The cat is an intregated part of the exhaust system as that's how he will be able to obtain the CARB certification...it's all part of a system, header-->tail pipe.

From the conversations that I have had with John @ HyTech he already has quite a few of the exhaust systems on order to owners of his header...I should have mine shortly

Austin - who calls John a little too much

[EDIT] I will be doing a before and after dyno comparison as soon as I have my car back from the body shop...same day, same car, dyno with stock header and exhaust, install HyTech dyno, then tune cam gears and Hondata.[/EDIT]

thanks! good info on both parts - I hope you can record some audio (use a camcorder and have someone with the capability to transfer it to a computer upload it)

exhaust system with a revised price of $950
LMAO...I called B.S. on his proposed pricing of $600 ever since he released that figure. I hope those of you that actually thought the system would go on sale for $600 aren't too disappointed.
