what to measure from when adjusting clutch pedal?

Default what to measure from when adjusting clutch pedal?

do you measure from the sheet metal under the carpeting or from on top of the carpeting? it doesnt say in my manual. thanks.

Why are you adjusting the pedal in the first place? You should have about a half inch of free play at the very top.

ahaha i love these replys. im adjusting it because i like to go through stuff on my car to make sure things are spot on to the specs. im doing it exactly to my factory manual specifications, it just didnt specify if you need to take the measurements off of the carpeting or the base/metal floor. im pretty sure its the metal floor and ive just got it readjested to a pedal height of 6.5"...which is what is stated in the manual.
