Default HELP: Problem with y8 swap into 93 coupe.

ok so my friend swap in a d16y8 into his 93 coupe it doesnt start obd1 harness obd1 dizzy obd1 alt. we r getting no spark does anyone knoe what the problem could be we r usin stock ecu from the coupe.

did you ground the valve cover? Does it get no spark when you test it with a screw driver? or are you just assuming.

Any ecu will work, But I assume you guys are using a p28?? try using the obd2 dizzy and repinning the pins.

naw we r using the dx 93 ecu we test the distributor plenty of ways its not getting any spark the dizzy works it was taken of a runnin car will reppining the obd2 dizzy help, i hate to tear it appart and it wont help u know thanks.

you don't need to tear it apart, just depin the obd2 one, the depin the obd1 one, one by one. Then just put it in the exact same spot with colors, theres one blocked off pin so you can use that as a reference point.

A. i hope he plans on getting an obd1 p28 ecu.
B. as previously stated check the grounds, both valve cover and tranny side, also the thermostat housing.

a. the ecu does not have ansything to do with the situation since you can start pretty much any 92-00 civic with any 92-95 ecu
b. if the grounds arent making good contact the cel will stay lit solid
