something i was wondering about cause i have a battery that is'nt being used and it was tested as good at the autoparts store.
so is there some way i can keep that battery in my car as a spare for when the main one goes out ??? or would it die after a certain amount of time or drain???
is there some kind of little mini charger or device you can have hooked to it to keep it alive ??? or any other information on keeping a battery alive that is'nt being used in a car ???
thanks

stick it in a freezer....
i know that you can do this with household batteries, and im actually trying to restore some dead cells in my laptop battery right now by cycling it in the fridge freezer

I think a better question would be why carry a spare battery around? It usually takes years for a car battery to die out, and even then you can usually start to feel it give out when it's on its last leg and have enough time to swap another one in.
Carrying a spare battery in your trunk would just take up space and add pointless weight to the rear of your car.

Don't put a lead acid battery in your freezer.

If the spare battery is still good, sell it for a couple of bucks, and save the extra money to buy a new battery when the time comes.
but seriously folks, people are dumb in general. They read something and think cuz its truth cuz the internet said so.
