I have 2002 Civic Sedan. Stock. I drove down the block and everything was working good. A/C was blowing ice cold , i unlocked my car from outside with my keyless remote and the annoying red brake light wasn't on. I then got out of my car did some grocerys come back outside try to unlock my car with the keyless remote nothing. So im thinking maybe the battery on the remote died so i open the car manually first thing i do is test the door locks. The door locks do not respond to the unlock or lock position TO ALL FOUR DOORS! I turn on the car the Brake Light is on . I never use my E-Brake(Automatic) So i know the E-Brake is down. I pop the hood check brake fluid level Maxed out. Then I crank on my A/C and notice its just blowing air from the blower. I tested the A/C button to see if i can feel the compressor engage then i visually went outside and the A/C Clutch wasnt spinning. So what relay or fuse is causing ALL THIS? I checked all the black Denso Relays that are 4 prong ( Two that are parrell and two that are stack in front of another ( I believe theres one for the horn and has a snowflake ) Anyways those are all good and all the underhood fuses Are good. The battery in the keyless remote is good. A/C was blowing cold has no leaks! So i know it doesnt need Freon i even checked the pressure. The brake light is on too so!

 

bump it fixed it self. A couple weeks pass back at it again! ECU defect maybe?

Weird, mine is doing the exact same thing... Locked it with the keyless entry went back about 5 hours later to unlock it and nothing happend hit the button nothing so unlocked it with the key and tried to use the switch on the door still not unlocking the locks then I started the car and put the e brake down and the light stayed on, checked all the fuses and none are blown. light doesnt turn on when you open the door or when you turn the car off like it use too, no lights flash and the horn doesnt beep with the keyless entry, and I noticed this morning on the way to work that the intermediate wipers arent working only high and low... and the ac isnt blowing cold.

mine is an 02 civic ex 5spd...

 

It's the ecu guys. Im gonna go buy one ASAP and will keep you guys updated.

 

Guys, I hate to dig up an old thread, but I'm having the same issue with a 02 Civic EX 2 door. What did you find out to resolve this issue?? Thanks for the help I'm having trouble figuring it out. Everything worked fine, then parking brake light came on, no ac, and no power locks. Thanks.

 

For anyone else wondering, it was the multiplex controller unit for my car that fixed it.
