Help: Radiator Fan not Turning On
my cooling fan won't turn on after i replace a heater hose. i checked relay it's fine. hook up the fan to the batter it's fine. hook it up through the connectors and it's fine. it did over heat due to insufficient coolant but after i add more coolant it's fine. the fan won't turn on five-ten minutes after the car reaches normal operating temp. it seems like there's a lot of pressure because smoke starts to leak through the rad cap 5-10 mins after normal temp. what can this be water pump, thermostat, etc. any help is appreciated
im leaning tward the thermostat it could of gone bad when it overheated not to common but maybe it has a leak in the gasket this would need you to drain all coolant and check the thermo or replace if you like then bleed the radiator just let all the bubbles come out and top of as you go then when its full and not bubbling in the radiator put the cap and go from there was it the upper or lower hose? and did you put all switches back in the right plug?
i didn't replace the rad hoses. i replace the hose that go from the head (under the vtech solenoid) to a valve that's next to the firewall. it's the one that bends alot not sure if this helps

people, we need to simplify even more sometimes.....ck your ground wires and be sure the fan switch plug wires are actually plugged back in.
a buddy had the same issue to find out his fan wires were garbage

i tested it with the plugs and the fan turns on but while idling or driving it doesn't. the car doesn't overheat just that the fan doesn't turn on. forgot to mention i have a fluidyne radiator if it'll have an effect on the fans or not.
