i was just curious! has anyone driven or does anyone own an automatic GSR or B16-SI???...i just wonder how much ***** they have and wonder how strong the vtech would kick...just wondering

Yeah pretty much the same feel as a 5speed LS would be.

 

I'm building an auto b20/vtec this summer. I'm not expecting too much from it, but will definitely be better than the lame auto ls. One of my motives is originality; I have never seen someone put together an auto ls/b20-vtec before...

Neither exists in the US or Canada stock. Other countries had similar offerings, performance and reliability will obviously not be what it would be with a 5 speed.

 

Well, since it's from japan, it'll have a litter higher compression. It's still a GSR motor at heart, just with a auto trans. So it'll have some pep to it.

An auto B20z will match a 5-speed LS. With the extra added HP of the gsr, it'll be faster than a LS 5-speed until you start hitting the higher gears.

I would like to do a Auto gsr swap for a fun DD to work once my motor blows. I dont know why people hate so much on the auto, it makes a nice ride to work and school. But, if you want real fun, a 5-speed is where it's at.

 

Let me count the reasons:

-significantly higher up front cost in a new vehicle (doesn't really apply here, but still, for $1000 i'd much rather have A/C or a nice set of wheels)
-lower fuel mileage
-higher maintence costs
-much higher chance of failure
-generally speaking higher rebuild cost if it does fail

Whats to like? I'll take a 5 speed any day for daily driving, if you can actually drive they're generally smoother than an automatic and its not like you have to think about shifting.

 

A friend and I did an auto gsr swap in one of my 93 civic few years ago. Ran 15.3 at the track, nothing special.

 

meh Honda automatic transmissions just suck in general.

he was wondering how much ***** an auto gsr had, just saying a manual gsr doesnt got any so u could imagine the auto, sounds nice though
