I have looked for info on the Canadian models. I'd like to know what Canada got that the US didn't.

I am aware of the special editions. so lets get that out of the way.


As far as the regular models. I know the door handles and mirrors were body colored. Celestial blue was also an SI color.

were the seatbelts always in the pillars, or did Canadian models also get them in the doors? Was there ever a si-r sold in Canada new?

If someone has an original brochure scanned, that would be cool. I'll update this first post with all the info and pics added.

 

Canada never got door seatbelts, they are all pillar style. Actually, did any other country besides the US even get door mounted seatbelts? All the JDM/EDM ones I've seen are pillar mounted.

What's a part of the Special Edition? Spoiler, special middle taillight section, and what else?

I know! They came with JDM style door cards? Kind of? Door pockets.
Some came with armrests. Mine did, yay... And my rubber trim around my car is painted.

 

Did the SE models have the same red striped seats as the SI?

 

Seats were Si seats with red stripe found on 90-91 models

Nope, it was a dealer installed option available in all civic's and crx's here, though they were rare

Only on the SE which are rare enough as it is, the rear wiper arm has a slightly lower profile to clear the SiR rear spoiler. I bought one of these arms for my car when i bought the jdm spoiler as an add on for my 89 Si

We have lots of SiR's here now due to the 15 year import law. Here i am in one i brought in a couple years ago

I think the only reason they didn't bring the SIR to the U.S. is this because people here drive like ******* all ready and it wouldn't have bean that smart to sell an brand new 14 sec car for 16,000 I say.

 

yeah, because mustangs, corvettes and camaro's, rx-7's, supra's aren't fast stock cars.

 

The SiR is heavier than our models and ain't that fast, its more like a 15.5 second car.
