Default car is getting too hot too quick

just a quick question. i have a b16 in my hatch and it has gotten all new gaskets and seals throughout with one new piston ring. long story short, valves adjusted and flushed with oil and all that. i drove the car about 20 feet in a back yard and from just that 20 feet the header got so hot that if you spit on it, it would sizzle. any ideas on what could cause that? clogged injectors? needing fuel pump? anyone else had that on a b16a? i tried the search function and just didnt get back a whole lot. checked coolant and that is no problem. checked oil and that is no problem. thermostat and everything else appear to be operating as normal. i would appreciate any help.
