torquing lugnuts-Is a torque wrench accurate?
Hi im just wondering that if a torque wrench is accurate? i mean that its not really accurate but, i am wondering if you use an extensions will it affact the spec of torque ft lbs that im torquing to?
i am using a regular 1/2" craftsman turn dial ratchet torque wrench and using a 3" extension to a double sided socket 19mm that looks like 1.5" when attatch to , also another 3" Socket for the star key lugnut bolt. Im geusing eight to nine inches?
And i am wondering if when i torque it to my Spec will it be less than dialed foot lbs torque AT?
I heard some people saying that if you add extension you will minus the spec that you calibrated it at?
so maybe about 80 so ft lbs and i torque it my wheels lugnuts i torqued it at will be less than 80ft lbs because of the extension? IS that true?

All honda's with 19mm Lugnuts should be set to 80ft/lbs (all civic, accords, pilot, CRV, insight, s2000, fit). All honda's with 22mm lugs are set to 100ft/lbs (all ridgelines and oddeseys)
I started doing it when I found out that my car really likes to break wheelstuds for some reason, and they're absolutely terrible to change on the fronts. I also use antiseize on them.
I torque to about 85 with a 4" extension, and haven't broken one since I started doing that.
