92 honda accorde alt belt & ac belt too
most car i have owned you either had to move the alt body itself or compress a tensioner. i am glad that my alt has done pretty well so far cause i dont have a clue how to change it or the belt. im pretty sure it has something to do with the bolts near the front bottom of the alt and a similar set on the ac compressor (clutch?) but nothing i did losened the belts and id rather not cut and stretch the new ones on.
can you help?
thanks

There is a bolt on the bottom of the alternator (underneath the alt.) that if you loosen, will remove tension from the belt. As for the A/C belt, there should be a bolt on the top of your power steering pump (near the valve cover). Loosen that and you'll be able to remove that belt.
Thanks for your reply.
I looked for these bolts but diddnt find them. the ps pump has a side bracket for sure that looks like its intended to slide. as for the alt , i can barely see it but i think its a similar bracket.

There is a through bolt on both the PS Pump Bracket and the Alternator Bracket.
Look again. They are there. You can find the parts of each bracket with these pics and links (the links have the names of each numbered part):

Dosent look like this. It isnt the original motor , there is no telling exactly what motor I do have.
I called my brother. He had the car before me and he says the junk motor he had put in it came out of a 93 accorde and it is a 2.2. ok im confused.

the 92 and 93 came with the same size motors and as far as loosening the belts the power steering pump has a nut to loosen(#28 in diagram) then unscrew bolt #17. as far as alt. same principle but nut #29 and bolt #31. these will loosen the pry on them to get them to move enough to get the belts off. install is in opposite order
You can find out what kind of motor you have by looking at the stamping just below the coolant outlet connection on the head. You can see the A6 from my F22A6 in the picture below (ignore the red circle, it's for another post).

Cut me a little slack. I diddnt change the motor , that was before I got it.
At any rate i was able to find the bolts on the front of the bracket. not a 100 perfect match but close enough to see how it goes. the picture was good but i couldnt quite make the connection.
