Did the pins fit in the head fine? I didn't think they used the same sized dowel pins.. Or did you get the holes opened?

100% sure its above the oil filter. The head was already on a LS block, we bought it from the guy and slapped it on our block. So the head already worked on a LS block.

I guess the mechanic when he sprayed copper crap on the head gasket sprayed the thing that says up so it was on upside down. Gotta buy a new one a put it on, pretty sure that was why it was leaking. I'll post again when new gasket is one and let everyone know if that fixed it.

yeah, while you're at it, why don't you take that head over to a machine shop to make sure it isn't warped. Might as well get it hot tanked and pressure checked while your at it. and check the block deck for squareness. prefereably at a machine shop if you can.

Yea, might as well get the crank polished too. Then send the block out and have it sleeved and bored over. Then some 14.5:1 pistons and Pauter rods, and call it a day.

It has already been re-surfaced, crank has been polished, block has been hot tanked, and it is square.

OK, after replacing the head gasket and making sure it was right side up we turned the car over and what do ya know, oil spraying again. BUT, my friend swore it was from the head, yet we saw it coming from the intake manifold with closer inspection. SO, we took off the intake manifold and low and behold there is a hole in the middle of the head that was pumping out oil the whole time. There should be an allen bolt that goes in that hole that was definitely not in it. So we have to get that bolt, slap her on and she should be good to go.
