Is there a comparisson between a real and fake itr rear strut bar? any pics plz
The OEM brackets have "R" and "L", for right and left brackets, respectively. The OEM bolts are hex not allen, with a semi-glossy black finish.
I've seen a fake one a few years back that was slightly darker in color. Had a slight yellowish tint. Also, the fake one was lighter than my oem one.
Hopefully if it comes from an ITR owner, it is real...

well the thing is i ordered mine through a jdm importer and it looks like brand new never put on since no nut marks on the brackets it has the L and R symbols on brackets but it has allen bolts. This thing is brand new so its hard for me to believe its real , here are the picks.

so what you think also my left bracket with the L is on the right side where the type R sticker is? Should i bitch them out and get my money back, the thing is it looks real and i'm actually liking it but if its a fake then i payed too much. Is there a web theat sells the fake ones how much do they go for?

Yours is fake unfortunately. The "R" and "L" engravings aren't so bold on OEM brackets. The bolts are wrong. I remembering the knock offs going for cheap on eBay.
SOB yeah also the decal on yours is spaced further out from the RIGHT side compared to the one i got. I'm pissed off now since this was a jdm importer that deals with real parts. I will not mention any names untill this gets sorted. Thanks BlueIntegraBoy I may need your services for the cutouts in the future.

The placement of the sticker is up to the owner. When you buy the bar new, the sticker isn't on the bar yet.
well further investigating the one on ebay has a different sticker and a darker tinge as well as the brackets are more of a darker look
question: was this rear strut bar ever standard on any USDM model? or was it a dealer-installed option?
yeah you're right with the L, R stamps they're in too deep , but colors of brackets match and even the aluminum tubing matches these got to be the best replicas I have seen , even the tubing has the 2 walls inside that makes it square. Here re more picks of the stamps

Nope, it is not fake. I have bought at least 10 of them from Japan over the years and they all had hex bolts. The front ITR bars come with the allen bolts. I bought a rear ITR bar BNIB years ago and came with the hex bolts.
Even rarer is the CTR rear bar that mounts much lower to the floor and also has double the thickness mounts but uses the same extruded bar.
