Been trying to find the source of the knock in my D16Y7. I'm not too sure if these measurements could be it, but here goes.

Main bearing journals: Should be 2.1644 to 2.1654
#1 - 2.163
#2 - 2.164
#3 - 2.164
#4 - 2.164
#5 - 2.163

Rod journals: Should be 1.7707 to 1.7717

#1 - 1.772
#2 - 1.771
#3 - 1.769
#4 - 1.776

Unfortunately, the micrometer I'm using doesn't go to the ten thousandths place.

Think these are off enough to cause a pretty loud knock?

anything out of tolerance is just that- out of tolerance.

did you measure each journal more than once? i'd take at least 3 measurements of anything shiny to give you a better idea of how it has worn.

like measure as if you were cutting pizza, get multiple cross sections of the journal

 

Yeah I measured more than once. I've got a blown y8 that i'm gonna take the crank out of and check. If it's good i'll put it in this one. #3 bearing also had some wear on it. I'll swap the cranks and hopefully have the problem solved. Thanks for the input guys.
