What do you guys think about JENSEN INDASH DVD Units
I agree, I have sold and installed many Jensen units (against my will), they have a high failure rate and dont offer many user features. If your looking for a indash DVD, they have come down a lot in price lately, Kenwood or Pioneer is a good choice, price is higher but as with anything audio related......you get what you pay for.

Here is where I disagree with my install brethren.
As an "entry level" unit at the $200-$300 price point its not bad for the money.
The only "high failure" rate that I have encountered is from user error (mainly from using
bootlegs cds and dvds with stick on labels that gum up the DVD drive)

I'd choose the Pioneer AVH-P5000 over the Panasonic, but it all comes down to what YOU like. I would get your hands on a few in dash DVD units, see what featurs you like, you will gravitate toward one.
When you ask a forum full of folks what they like, you will get biased answers, mine is biased toward what I like, sell, install, and own, which may not be the best choice to suit your needs or budget. If you stick with the better known brands, quality will generally be good, features and $$ will vary, which is why you need to analize your needs. Also, you can search and read reveiws on DVD units, see what the owners are saying, its a fairly large purchase, so do your research, kick some tires, and get the one that suits your needs.

Go towards the pioneer model. If your budget does not allow. Look into valor or power acoustic. They have some nice units that can fit your budget. Alpine, pioneer and kenwood all have entry level units to get you started. I favor pioneer because I work with pioneer products. But I have installed every brand and the most problems come from user error and cheap items like dhd, pyle. Jensen you will not like the color of the screen after about a month or two. It fades and picture quality is not up to par imo
To the guys that install Pioneers, do you see a lot of customers coming back with problems? I have a AVIC D2 and its been a hassle pretty much since about hte 3rd month I had it.
