Icon2 Attention Electricians! 1992 Integra GSR: Alarm/Battery problem - NEED HELP!

Hey there, I think I have a serious problem with my alarm... Okay, heres the story. When I was buying the car, the previous owner had trouble with the battery being low, so when the alarm accidentally went off with the drained battery, all we could hear was a ticking noise for a while... Then, about a week later, I had the car towed to a shop to get the clutch changed. I also told the mechanics to put in a new battery, but totally forgot that the alarm is going to start up when they put the new battery in.. Thus, the alarm went off and since I forgot to give the mechanics the remote, they shut off the alarm by disconnecting the siren, and (apparently, according to this one mechanic, there is a manual "switch-off" button near my clutch pedal). He said he pressed the button to turn the alarm off, and all seemed okay. I got the car back, and the clutch was fine. That was when I started to notice that the little blue light was always on (even when I was driving).

So I'm not sure now - is the alarm really off? Because the blue light is always on and the previous owner tried using the remote to turn off the light, but it did not work.. If the alarm is on, I can't hear it because the siren is disconnected - and I am too afraid to touch anything, because if something goes wrong, the mechanics will blame it on me

Whats even worse is that I think the alarm is on - and IS DRAINING MY BATTERY, because I am having serious troubles starting my car...... This is my theory, but the mechanics are saying this could not drain the battery..

So, here you can answer these questions easily:

1. Do you think the alarm is on or off?
2. If it is on - and I can't hear it - will this be draining my battery?
3. Should I try fixing it myself, or let the mechanics do it? (Personally I don't
feel like driving too far because my head gasket is leaking..)
4. Because I am always having problems trying to start my car, is this putting stress on my starter or anything else?

first of all hook the siren back up...whats the point of even tryin to work on it if you cant hear it..
did any instructions come with the alarm when you got it?? from the blue led your talkin about it sounds after market. maybe there is a way to reset it.

chances are the clicking noise you hear is the relay that flashes the running lights when the alarm is on

No, no lol.. The ticking noise was back before I got the new battery put in.. And the reason for that ticking noise was because the battery did not have enough power to make the siren go off, so it came out as small ticks, and eventually faded to nothing as the battery died.
